A greener alternative to mobile paper shred trucks

Data destruction is about offering peace of mind to customers that their confidential and most private information has been duly destructed beyond reconstruction. Mobile shredding trucks are usually 5-10T trucks and offer shedding on site, but leave a high negative environmental footprint. At Pulp Shred, we service our customers in smaller fuel efficient vehicles, we transport the materials back to our site, remove contaminants, shred, commingle and bale the shredded paper. These bales are then shipped to paper mills for processing into new/recycled paper products. Additionally, we also capture the very fine shred paper dust and are now collaborating with a local design studio to convert the dust into new products, thereby saving the dust from the environment and landfill. Further, to counter the on site appeal of shred trucks, Pulp Shred has developed a proprietary video verification system - ‘PULP SHRED Video Verification (PSVV)’ system. The PSVV is a unique custom-built IOT software technology that provides customers the ability to view their entire shredding process. Customers are notified when their shredding is complete and can log in to view their shredding jobs at their convenience 24/7. Apart from the industry standard certificate of destruction, PULP SHRED provides verifiable video proof for an auditable tight chain-of-custody, including barcode scanning at each touchpoint, date and time stamps, asset identification, tracking and reporting system, container information (type, location, weights), service technician information. We would like a sustainability assessment performed on on-site (Mobile shred trucks) vs off-site (Pulp Shred), so that we have an independent third party perspective on the harmful impact of on site shredding.
