The organization will identify a project lead who will liaison with the students and the instructor as needed. It is expected that the students will have a greater frequency of contact in the first 2-3 weeks to decide the study questions and data access. Meetings could be set up using Skype and correspondence will be via e-mail. starting from Monday, January 20, 2018.
The students will also consult the course instructor and submit a one page update of their progress every week. A copy of this weekly update will also be sent to the project lead of the organization.

February 23, 2018Midway Check
Midway Check In will be conducted by the course instructor in consultation with project lead from the organization on the basis of a 2 page progress report submitted by the team members of each group.

March 30, 2018Final Draft Report
This will examined by the project lead and the course instructor to recommend any changes before their final submission within one week of the end of classes.

April 14, 2018Final Report
Report submitted to the organization project lead with a copy to the course instructor. Project lead sends in their assessment of the group experience by April 10th, 2018

Project Examples
Requirements
Beginning this January, 4th year finance students in groups of 4 to 5, will spend up to 250 hours per group assessing and improving your current pension plans.
Based on the information that you provide and the research that the student-consultant groups conduct, they will provide you with detailed recommendations on the design, governance, and investment of pension funds.
Projects may address, but are not limited to, the following challenges:
- Pension design challenges such as adequacy and costs of retirement benefits.
- Governance challenges such as investment policy, monitoring, and performance evaluation.
- Investment challenges that arise from long term horizons and sustainability.
